Random Poem:

All alone inside of my body
I was stalled in the position of a little girl
My skin seemed to confine me
I needed to break loose and into the world.
And once when I was treading in the ocean of my life
I was fighting to keep my head above the surface
The bricks on my shoulders didn’t want me to survive
But I kept on trying, ‘cause I knew the future would be worth this.
Now the skin is tearing and I am free to escape
And although I bleed, it’s so easy to breathe
You have lifted these weights from my shoulders
I swim to the shore and fall to my knees
No longer alone and stuck in myself
I walk proudly and uncovered, with you by my side
Independence is present, but I know I need you in my life
So, I am completely content with my current state,
And wherever I go, I’ll take pride in each and every stride.
