Random Poem:

The color of AIDS

Red volcanoes erupt on
pale brown dunes
of shriveled skin that aches,
hanging onto tired bones.
The dark blood slow down
inside the dark tendrils
that criss cross his tired body
setting his fate, in medical reports.
The virus takes control
of his body, touch becomes
smell and sounds wash into
colors of echoing landscapes.
AIDS, they call it,
banishing those who suffer
from the Kingdom of Man-
into loneliness and ridicule.
But, hands hold him
to his final journey.
As he grows colder
his heart becomes warm
under the bountiful
sunlight of love.
Resilient, he fights till the end
until his body turns to dust, and
only a valiant heart remains
looking over the bridge
as he enters God's own Kingdom.
