Random Poem:

Anticipated Rejection

Two weeks today,
when you questioned my sorrow,
I stood there dismissive,
and created a quarrel,
I found it so difficult,
to chance cold rejection,
and left you annoyed,
struck-down with confusion.
So now I am writing,
(I'll summon my might),
though language inadequate,
to highlight my plight,
I wish you could fathom,
my cautious addiction,
this strong teasing hope,
of idealistic fixation.
Your illuminating beauty,
and presence so luring,
I can no longer deny,
this strong inward feeling,
when I see you flirt,
I'm helpless, constricted,
resenting the jealousy,
and control self-inflicted.
I'm now halfway there,
the court is assembling,
is your mind set?
my fingers are trembling,
the guillotine prepared,
strain clear on my face,
you play the jury,
here is my case.
I'm merely a guy,
who to quote the clichés,
would walk many miles,
just for your gaze,
would work triple hours,
and buy you warm gifts,
just for the chance,
to sample your lips.
I may not be carefree,
or spontaneous like some,
but please do not judge me,
as childish and dumb,
It's just that I'm trying,
so hard to impress,
I dread that your answer,
is not a firm "Yes."
Give me a chance,
for the love seen in movies,
the kind on high-school shows,
that we all want truly,
through this mail I confess
my heart is to lend,
now I need courage,
Shall I press send?
