Random Poem:

She looked around the corner
one last time
In her eyes, a searching look
for someone familiar...something
A smile, or a simple guesture
A moment of joy
In a cold alley at midnight
Decorated with gutters inhabited by
the rejects of civilization
Wiped clean of a trace of a smile
Lost hope written in graffiti
underneath the bridge
Neon signs advertising taboopleasures
Flashing reminders of an already
boldy illuminated, cold reality
She turned her solemn face away
from the bend
And with each defiant step,
she erased the past and advanced
toward an icy, trash-covered threshold
And placed her heel upon it
