Random Poem:

Tic Tock

You dangle on the second hand,
crying out as mid-night strikes,
begging refuge and rescue
from me, a fallen angel keeping track
of how many humans dance
on the end of a sword.
I keep my wings in a steel knapsack
of Amazon green - a golden parrots beak
the lock, a bloody claw the key.
I offer you neither,
slipping out at 11:59,
a whispered departure
made on slippered feet.
You scream at my back,
“Angels don’t have feet,
you bitch!”
Grinning, I add another head to my count.
