Random Poem:

small birth

I’ve been accosted for picking
the unripe fruit but I don’t have long
I fear or rather realize
mornings waking with young love
is as if small birth occurs
and the new day bit more anew
no promises are made
especially to myself as evidenced
by the lack of needed tears
Hendrix wrote of woman as rainbow
Young, as well, as hurricane
I fear my personal metaphor
however much preferred over simile
rather be than be like
or as
the still firm peach I bring
to my mouth and taste and bite into
never breaking the skin
