Random Poem:

i'd speak to you in italics, just to lean against you

your last hug
had me eating stars,
spelling us backwards
buried in your coat
you said
we last longer that way
you tugged,
tying my hair in a hunters bend
i dared myself to love you deeper
scooping you daily
two cups every hour
pulling us like taffy,
taking my time throwing tic tacs
at that monstrous tide
paying a pirate
to edit my feelings and heal me
from a boys left hook,
but all it took
was getting too close
before the cannon cursed the barracks
you believed would
keep us safe
our love went belly up
barely audible,
but twitching
