Random Poem:

these very low ideas
these linear games, the sinking feeling
in my chest as my attention
is brought back to the world
back to curiosity
fertile lines and joyful need
the constant rain that promised me
new thought and continuity
i am choking on the years
so scant but so significant
wasted on erasing, growing complacent
so eager to punctuate
with staccato dots and exclamations
my futile individuation
(i knew all there is to know
i had changed my very bones
reached the zenith of my growth
i was infallible as stone)
but i was stupid and i'm young
still learning where the water runs
forever downstream and back to the air
fighting tears, embracing fear
promising dissatisfaction
opening eyes swollen shut
by flagrant nonreaction
a hand to the heavens and a hand to the earth
heart to the universe, ears to the dirt
