Random Poem:

an elephant in the room
Mudd

a bright pink elephant plodded
 1
slowly out of its zoo enclosure
 2

past all the zoo visitors
 3
past the zoo keepers too
 4

(it had to slightly bow its head
 5
as it exited the zoo gates)
 6

it dodged traffic
 7
that did not stop for the wondrous sight
 8

as it crossed the street
 9
to the square opposite
 10

there, the elephant flexed its knees
 11
and jumped
 12

jumped so high, high above the zoo
 13
its shadow scudding across the city
 14

no one is startled (or hurt)
 15
as it landed, deftly, at my doorstep
 16

it plodded further, through the door
 17
squeezed itself up the stairs
 18

and slowly, silently, entered the room
 19
as we shared a hesitant kiss
