Random Poem:

Smoking In The Dark

My mother use to smoke in the dark
I remember, watching her.
The red glow of her cigarette
She sat silent and alone.
I often wondered what she waited for
Perhaps for my father to return home
Now I sit and I wonder
Was it the end of the day she anticipated
The end of existence, pain
Or did she find comfort in her stillness
Was she as numb as I am now,
Or did she vision another world.
I sit and smoke, suppress my tears
And consider her, sitting.
For so many years.
