Random Poem:

East L.A.

Whisky in Dixie cups
Women with buzz cuts
These- and any one thing
Related to sleep
You see
I know the midnight sweat
Of August and
I know the spirits
Among the
Eucalyptus leaves
But it is strange
How all their arms are crossed
Except the man in orange
And the little boy in green
Just past the full moon
The train howls its whistle
It is my proud and
Shameless grief
And I wake to sleep
