Random Poem:

my pillowcase misses your frigid embrace

1. i should have let down my hair when you tugged on my braid, your nimble fingers tracing transparent tangles
instead, i wrapped my hand around yours and offered to drive us down the coast with promises of sunshine and sweet lemonade
2. the freezer section of the grocery store only reminds me of your breath, invigorating and icy, frosting my fragile bones and translucent skin; who knew my hair was the only thing left alive?
3. you are all over my duvet, my lips and my hands, lividity aside-- when are you coming home?
4. when you left the note on my dresser, the sunshine i felt down in santa cruz fills my callous chest, igniting what remains of the candles that keep vigil in the barren rivers of my ribcage
5. open the door, i am here at last
