Random Poem:

Makes The Person

Home sweet home
I made it through the filter
Between welfare motels
And attempted robberies gone bad
Due to poor conduct
Like a fraudulent check discarded
Only because you didn’t want to wait in line
Impatience is a virtue, too
If you know how to use it
I was always pretty good
So I proved it
Skipped out on school
Moved to the city, felt a little better
As part of something else
Something bigger than myself
Bigger than this salty town
Though, still on the ocean
Until I learned the truth
That the something was really just a part of me
And not the other way around
Because it’s not the person that makes the city
It’s the city that makes the person
