Random Poem:

Trust
treerain

I suppose it wasn’t long ago
 1
but it had to be
 2
sometime distant
 3
because what did exist
 4
between those years
 5
were somehow good enough
 6
to offset them;
 7
I know sometimes
 8
the light is much too dim
 9
but I can’t resist
 10
these impulses
 11
even in the doorway
 12
that threatens to close and lock.
 13
I guess what I really meant
 14
was that I still am her
 15
or I never really changed
 16
but they changed the world
 17
around me
 18
just enough for me
 19
to believe,
 20
nevertheless, I’ve returned.
 21
this dull ache has reared
 22
its ugly head
 23
and now all I have to show
 24
is my barren love
 25
for those who can’t,
 26
or maybe won’t, return it.
 27
Is the end
 28
when you’ve come full circle
 29
or are you suppose to
 30
keep riding the crashed waves?
 31
why am I still waiting
 32
for an answer to my question
 33
that already
 34
I’ve moved on from?
 35
it seems that I should
 36
Know who this author is
 37
at least I should by now
 38
but the handwriting
 39
Keeps changing
 40
though he seems to bear
 41
the same few scars.
 42
I feel this emptiness
 43
between my ribs,
 44
you know, where there should be
 45
some form of strength,
 46
but all I keep feeling
 47
is this stinging pain.
 48
I might have known then too
 49
all about this
 50
which I’ve set myself up for
 51
but it wasn’t all my fault,
 52
if I could just fly
 53
to where these walls
 54
don’t contain who I am
 55
instead the chambers of my heart
 56
will be my testimony
 57
to life.
 58
Erase this and, well,
 59
I have never existed really-
 60
Not in the real plane
 61
but in the imaginary one
 62
the place that no one wants
 63
to accept
 64
Because it is utterly
 65
inconceivable
 66
to those who’ve never been there
 67
(I’ll tell you
 68
it’s really quite beautiful)
 69
I know, yes, I am not able
 70
to convey the truth
 71
because it’s not true
 72
that I could ever have been any
 73
other way than how
 74
I exist now.
 75
Once the flow is over
 76
you’ll see what really
 77
Erodes
 78
