Sydna’s Poem

The room is still
but you know she’s there
spreading out nights
you can barely leave
carrying the dawn
on strings of gold
She wears her beauty
in winter’s blush
beneath the hush
of sudden snow
with eyes like ivory
leading you through
morning’s stiff chill
And in the blue of summer
when all the crows of
August have died
her arms outstretch
like open wings
high above the ocean blooms
the streaming tides
the moonspun caves
turning air into water
and water to light
under the ridge
of incalculable stars.
