Random Poem:

I am a yesterday, a rip splitting
the chasm of what was from what is,
a September remnant among November winds.
Though skeleton finger branches
cling to their raiment
these leaves, too, must carpet the cold ground:
they are my wants and they are many.
I lag twelve steps behind the flow of things
trudging on clay feet,
attempting to stop the tide with a plastic bag.
I thought I could keep pace with love,
but she is a sprinter while I can only crawl;
she is here then gone in an instant.
My cup overflows but liquid splashes unneeded,
all the universe rendering it useless
to the one I offered the glass.
