in the summer sometimes they live in thongs/flip-flops or the open-and-rather-smelly-air.
in winter they like to hibernate in my blanket(s) or in nicely loose woolen socks perfect for sliding across the floors on.
its summer now.

I just go in to the "work clothing" franchise and buy the most expensive boots they have
I figure my feet deserve to spend as much time in comfort as possible
they've been pretty good to me

everything i'm exposed to is pretty safe
burns the eyes, dries out the skin -- just flush with plenty 'o water and NO SMOKING!!!!
i did get some nasty acid burns when i worked at a haz waste facility years ago
