This is just a reminder for all of you to educate yourself about all of the candidates before you vote in the primaries, most especially Ron Paul who seems to be the only honest and principled runner from either party. He has a strategy to end the war in Iraq and get the economy back on track while restoring the civil liberties that have eroded so rapidly during the Bush administration. If you care about our country and our reputation around the world you'll at least take the time to give him a look. Google Ron Paul and you'll find everything you'd ever want to know about him.

I am a libertarian with republican tendencies. Ron Paul's supporters are for the most part crackpots. At least the vocal ones are. Not meaning you personally. For me, the tax issue is paramount this year. I'm a Fair Tax supporter, supporting the Fair Tax because it will take power out of the politicians hands and give it back the the people. Especially the POOR.
So for the time being I'm supporting Huckabee. I am not a religious person but that issue doesn't bug me. No politician in the history of our country has let their religion dictate their politics. (Not even the Quakers) Abortion will never be made illegal. I don't see the USA falling backwards in those areas.
It's taxes that gall me and Ron Paul is not a Fair Tax supporter even if he does say he "will vote for it IF it comes up".
I am absolutely against any form of socialized medicine. I have seen first hand what it has done to Britain and Canada.

How is Fair Tax ever going to help the poor? Not even the bill's creators pretend to claim that the plan is going to empower the poor. In fact, it's such a shady system it requires that the poor be given vouchers to make up for the fact that taxing of 23-30% of all products is going to hurt only them. Here's another interesting question who's going to monitor income levels if we get rid of the IRS like the Fair Tax bill claims?... duh... This bill is a total sham with big "No more IRS" signs on it to drag people in support of it, when in reality it's simply a ploy by the wealthy to avoid paying the higher levels of income taxes they're required under the current system (which by the way are no where near high enough; they should AT LEAST be doubled). Face it what we really need is for the rich to stop being so damn greedy and taking their money to off-shore accounts. This bill is an invitation for even more of them to do it because it basically legalizes the practice. Rather then hiding their income to avoid taxes, they can flaunt their income and spend it elsewhere. Horrible idea.

WHAT? Ex-fucking-scuse me?... ever heard of George W. Bush? Mr. God-Told-Me-To-Do-Insert-Ridiculous-Policy-Making-Decision-Here? (Ever heard of his proposed ban on homosexual marriage?...)

Christ... even if Britain and Canada really were falling apart as a result of socialized medicine (which they are not) they are hardly the only models. In fact you've purposefully ignored the more successful ones: Denmark, Sweden, Austria, etc.

Terrible being a low-income earner in Australia. Anyone on income support here, if they get sick, ends up at the doctors, gets treated, pays $5.70 for medicine and has no paperwork to fill out.
It's shocking, really. I long to fill out forms.
Bloody socialised medicine...

Eh wat? I'm from Canada and the fact that my low-income family received hundreds of thousands of dollars in life-saving medical procedures for my dad really fucking sucks. I can see how that's a god-damned crime and a total destruction of the Canadian way of life right there.
Socialized medicine costs, but the Canadian economy is stronger than it has ever been, the taxation per family fairer than it is in the good ol USA. So please, shut yer gob if you haven't a clue what you're talking about.

Then why did my Canadian aunt have to come to the USA to get help when she needed mental health counseling?
And why did my British uncle DIE from cancer because it wasn't his turn to have surgery?
I'm a BIG BIG Ron Paul supporter - one of those crackpots I guess. And why is it the business of the government to monitor our income? Just how did the country survive before the income tax?

| re: Ron Paul unknown 24 Dec 07 10:21AM | Thread Closed |
hey truth is the government has no business giving us anything or telling us to do anything. if you can't get what you needon your own then just die and get off everyone's back.
i mean the government doing everything it possibly can to keep weak and sick people alive just weakens the human race and hastens our extinction.
