I meant, "fellow adult."  Get over yourself.

"limits on public discourse" is good... like, where from? t.v? or a class? you can't have read it, and probably don't recall who said it. maybe you only know they tell you that love is grand, and... the thing that's known as romance is wonderful...

so, you're in love with yourself? is this the inner-child looking for a sugar daddy?

Today at two,

from outside came terrible sounds of a dog and cat fight.
Two dogs in my courtyard.  I opened the garage door from behind which I work.  The young pair of Jack Russels had treed my cat.  They were having a grand time of it.  They saw me, and although I spoke calming words, the dogs decided to bolt.   No collars, no tags.

I walked slowly and calmly, followed them to the gate, but they only looked at me and laughed and turned to run down the road toward the corner.

Two hours later my doorbell rings.   A young man, a father asks me if I own Jack Russel terriers, or do I know any living in the neighborhood.

Why do you ask me?   "I hit one of with the car and the other one bolted.
I took the injured dog to the Knowles Animal Clinic; I've just come from there.
They would not treat the dog without payment.  Not my dog, but I couldn't just let it die without treatment.  So I've paid the clinic $400 already. But if I can't find the owners, the overnight charges will be higher again.  The dog has internal injuries, bleeding internally probably, they say.  No bones broken."

How many homes have you canvassed already? "Yours is the first I've tried."
I told him of the incident two hours before, that they ran away.  "And that exactly when it happened, two hours ago when they ran right across Ingraham Highway and I hit one of them hard. It was a tremendous shock, even to the car."

"Look, I've only got only an hour more before I have to pick up my son from school. I'm going to ring more doorbells, but which ones? Where should I try?"
I had no idea.  I've never seen Jack Russels in our neighborhood before. He gave me his name and phone.   I said I would put up some signs on poles: have you lost Jack Russel dogs?

At four thirty I called Jamie (the Samaritan) to say I had put up the signs.
"Great, thanks!  I just kept looking and then just a few minutes ago I met a guy on a bicycle and asked him and learned that he was looking for these dogs too: he is caretaking for the family out of town, and the dogs slipped out the door."
At this time of posting one dog remains lost, one may be dying; but at least the family will know it was all an accident.

And those pups did not even graze Fraidy, the world's meanest, toughest cat:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=IBOXErq4OyQ
Will report if I learn whether the injured dog survives, and whether his litter mate is found and returned, I'll report that too in time.

For now I want to say in public, how remarkable it is of Jamie Gross to have done all that he did, and how much I regret opening my door, spooking the dogs; seem they would not have bolted otherwise, and Mr. Gross would not have been put into this situation at all.

Regarding the chances and confluences: why, of hundreds and hundreds of homes did Jamie think to ring my doorbell first?   One of those beautiful strokes of luck, partial reprieves that sometimes come when things have otherwise turned out so wrong. Poor pups, cats-- yet, rich in goodness is the Good Samaritan,
Jamie Gross, Coconut Grove, Florida, today.

What a story!  It is not your fault, though.  The dogs got loose, which they probably knew was not normal or good.  They chased your cat up a tree and you did what any owner would do, chase away the intruder.

Coincide - the coming together of things to form a whole.  Isn't that good?  This man must feel terrible, the dog is hurt (I'm guessing they don't feel guilt although I've seen dogs who look ashamed of themselves), the other dog must be feeling grief and loneliness.

God bless this man, he has a good heart for this smaller creature.  Jack Russells are genetically gifted with boundless energy.  How interesting that he came, directly to you.

Okay. So I'm reading this thread.

Netsky tells a story about some kid.
Then he replies to himself a few times.
Then Starr's like, wtf, I'm a whigger.

The continuity doesn't seem right here. Did I miss something?

Might just be one of the more stupid comments I've ever seen here - that's saying something :S ??white guilt? @_@

As for the draft, I'm too tired to think straight (hehehe straight *wink*) so maybe more thoughts when I can read again :)

netsky was posing again.

starr was bleeding for humanity again.

re: friend Bobby  starr  9 Jul 08 7:30AM Thread Closed

I'd rather bleed for humanity that bleed for what drives most others today.  People today seem to get off on the rampant degrees of coldness and cruelty that plague society.  I would never want to be remotely compared to a single one of 'em.  Too self-centered for me.  I prefer to be a help than a nuisance any day.  People who are nusicances usually end up gettin' their asses kicked or their heads blown off their body.  Why contribute to that ugly population?  It's expendable.  I'd rather be dePENDable.  Hate on, hater.  And remember, what you see in the mirror is what you see in your world.  Congratulations.  Get me some Band-Aids.  I wouldn't wanna bleed on your sorry ass.

re: friend Bobby  starr  9 Jul 08 7:32AM Thread Closed

CORRECTION:  I'd rather bleed for humanity THAN bleed for what drives most others today.  Not "that bleed."  Too early to type.  More coffee, more cigarettes, more kindness.  The Moon's in Libra.  It's a good time to strive for balance.  :-)
