It is a terrible pain being attractive, why can’t they just love me for my money?

it must be awful being ugly. I myself would probably kill myself if I myself was ugly myself

The post reminds me of Baz Luhrmann's "Sunscreen Song":

But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous you really looked….You’re not as fat as you
imagine.

At midnight last night I made a run for it to the convenience store.
Tropical storm Fay has left Miami so wet between the legs that even the glass front of the Stop 'n Shop is obscured in atmospheric sweat.

As I, sole shopper, left the store, a tall, dark, young, utterly strikingly beautiful hispanic male pushed through the dripping doorway.

I passed him and went out to my car and loaded the donuts and Yoo Hoo onto the front seat.

He instantly came out.   Another old compact car was parked beside his; a really pretty girl was waiting in that car, its clear coat peeling from the roof like sunburned skin.

In the most graciously humble, accented yet perfect English, he addressed me as he approached me,  "Sir, can you tell me how to get to 2850 Grand Avenue?"

I fumbled and thought, though I have lived in this neighborhood for decades.
It wasn't that he was physically beautiful, so much that he has that "IT" quality so long ago defined  by Elinor Glyn.   We spoke for a minute and it was decided that they would follow me to the turn off from US1, to Grand Avenue.

That's all there was to it, where and when I gave him an agreed-upon wave to point out that street.  She, the buddy, followed in her sunburned Corolla.
They were looking for the all-night gym.   I know they had a good work out.
I wish I could have seen her closer up.   For he, an attractive person, beautiful young man, has a magnetism not owing to his good looks, but to his good heart.
I don't really believe in "aura", but he had it, and by the smile I got from her from thirty feet away, it would seem that those two magnets are polarity-aligned, and will never really become repelled by anyone in life, because attractivness is really a property of giving good smiles, and not in youth nor muscles nor curves in the road.
