i opened my poetry critical account back in 2003.  i had since completely forgotten about it and the poems that were contained within.

upon returning i have decided that my poetry wasn't as piss poor as i had convinced myself over time that it was, but it still wasn't as great as i thought it was at the time.

how do you feel when you run across forgotten poetry of your own?

Well we timorous cowering beastie
what terror lies within thy breastie?
When plough share turns yer hoose amaistly
why wid ye start again sae hasty.

Depends if I think it's good.  Then I wonder if I wrote it or copied it from someplace!  haha  Welcome back.  I've been here since 2003, too, are you under the same name you were then?

I found my first journal of poetry, from 10th grade.
I used to just string words together for the sake of sounding a certain way. Melodic, dark, melancholy.
Its embarrassing.

But everything I did beyond that journal at least shows signs of improvement from THAT point. Anything better than "As a Jew does not believe in Hell" and "kill our hope, just as you killed our crops" is good in my book.
I really started enjoying my own work around a year and a half ago. Quite proud of everything from the age of 18 and up.

Don't think a person's poetry can stand very well by itself. I think my poetry will accompany my greater life works just fine.

whether its bad or good, it still is an extension of your previous self. so i would naturally be nostalgic reading it.

Oh my god it's you! When I saw this username when you first signed up I thought it was the cutest thing ever and proceed to try to use it elsewhere. I confess now only because it was taken everywhere else and I did not succeed.

I read my old poetry and most of the time I think, I wrote that shite?

haha.  i was pretty obsessed with this screenname for a time.  it's kind of scary how easily i can hunt my history down just by searching my past screennames.  if anyone wanted to know everything about me that would be the way to go.

and yes!  i remember you as well.
