I had an opinion, but not on the thread question itself.
Yes gay woman? Our gay men folk on PC, certainly are vociferous about their inclinations. Are lesbians just a little more mature in poetic conversations? I don't really care to know that much information about poets anyway. They're all a tad self consumed anyway, my self included.

I am old and gray and gay, not fey, and have known hundreds of gay women, my sister being one.

The primary difference is that women are not ruled by androgenic hormones.
They tend not to be overtly aggressive.  They are passive-agressive.

Gay men run the gamut, from the rare but real silly-queeny type, to the uber-masculine "he can't be gay!" type.   But all of them are cases of testosterone, part full, or over brimming.

Gay men, like men in general, are bold and often vociferous.
They strive to be known and noticed.  Some, like me, like to be funny about it.

Gay women tend toward silence, internal heaves.  I've almost almost no gay woman who could be called funny or light hearted.

But, like most women, or more so:  gay women tend to have a moral imperative to silently or verbally, or by action, judge all others.

A woman two days ago tried to steal a parking space from me and Ernie outside the post office.   It was flagrant and cruel of her.  I think she was a straight woman,
and working her passive aggression as an art form:  never mind that I was letting another car out of the parallel space, had MY four way flasher on and the reverse lights were on, and I had my head turned back, my arm on the seat back;
as the previous tenant of that rare space on the street in front of the post office pulled away,
zooom, in dove that entitled woman in her Mercedes.   But she wasn't fast enough.

In the post office line, with a huge, 50 parcel and my 77 year old mate in tow,
I remarked:  BOY, I almost lost my space to that woman.  What nerve of her!
"Oh! That was me", pipes a pretty plump young thing.  "You sure did back in fast".

I guess I did, full throttle in reverse, because I had waited for and marked my intentions three ways to have that space, then you came along from the rear.

"I never saw you in time."

Right. Liar she was, but with a disarming smile.  You can't call a woman, gay or straight, a liar in a public place.

I apologized for "my agression".  But really, I won't put up with bullies of any gender, orientation, age or sex.   And you know, it's the testosterone that does that, not "gayness" or anything else.

Men will remonstrate.  Women, retaliate.

you should have given her the finger. followed her home. killed her pets. and leave her sheets spoiled.

no, I was utterly defeated, shamed, in line, people watching, listening.
and the more I smiled and tried to back down, with flummoxed words of apology,
the more she rolled her eyes in triumph, knowing that after all, she had me.

she had me. she had me there in public.

No sexual orientation owns poetry. I would think that poetry itself is superior than gender. hehe if it makes sense that is.
