The long Sonnet and Devil’s Ballade. Tune The Old Laurel Tree. Similar to The Streets of Laredo.
O’ my words they are dying, o they’re truly dying
and I am left all alone in repose.
Where is my wild nature, that devil its creature
for I am bereft of none that he knows.
It seems that there’s sorrow in such life of tomorrow
when problem’s paths they a red river flow.
What steps can I take in that poetry’s great sorrow
and all of its wisdom’s were I ne’er to know.
So write me a story of death and its glory
that I may scrawl on last page of life
of all those words that did so escape me
they of a meaning and their own causing strife.
Perhaps when those sad days are gone from my memory
and the last page I wrote I may no longer see.
Would you write me a poem about life and its effort
and give not a heed to its lifelong debris.
So let me and that devil step out there together
we both dressed up in our finery.
For what would I gained if cared of the weather
and trod o the path of good misery.

If someone has quote never heard of such a thing unquote i say, should i feel ashamed or are they messing with my head/playing power games?
As poets, what are your thoughts on this?
