The Cowboy’s Banshee.  A Ballade.

We wandered o’er prairie, just my pinto and me
and sang all my songs to the wild coyote.
Howled we there together, like banshees from hell
which one was the banshee only pinto could tell.

O the moon it was shining and those stars were so bright
that all of far mountains were bathed in their light...
Well we headed for Kansas and I sure don’t know why
where the great Mississippi in our path it did lie.

Well the waters were deep but my pinto could swim
and all those great efforts were down to him.
O the city gave off those bright lights that we saw
Tho’ I preferred Denver, some would call it a draw.

So I stabled my pinto to give him a rest
went off to the bar to give whiskey fair test,
where we downed those doubles, my friends and me
which one was that devil, which one the banshee.

For that pianist he pounded those keys with all might
how glad is my pinto he can rest up tonight.

Mor.

Previous page, two adjacent giant quotes, very short,  QUOTE:

Remember also, that the most important thing in life is not  always to do the right thing, but to do what you NEED to do- the right thing can be done afterwards.

It doesn't help having religious types telling you you're born evil either, I bet.  Your account is delusional, I bet you're way more decent than you give yourself credit for.

Yes! that account(ing) is (in part) delusional.   And that's because it invokes the (usual Xty guilt-control words, the labels.

And mr_e:   thanks for astonishing with something so protective.  It will help me live too.
