Well Lili Marlen was sang with equal enthusiasm by both Axis and Allied troops during World War Two, especially by those of Rommel’s and Montgomery’s armies in the North African conflict

Lilli Marlene.

Sing me a song now, when I am feeling low
when all of those lights, are nothing but aglow
and I will bring “Deutschland” to you.
You know its true, we are the few;
“The fatherland and glory”
We die, but then we knew.

We need not heed that thunder
for we knew it would appear.
Those distant guns are booming
in a way that they draw near.
For we must not show that we’re afraid
Who would come to; or give us aid.
The Fatherland; its glory, we are a debt unpaid.

I sing my song in sorrow, my tears they are but true
I’ll die a good soldier, in all those ways I knew
I have no thoughts, that I despair, why should I care
the lilies fair, will bloom again tomorrow
and I will not be there.

So underneath the lamp light
that shines on me off late
I still remember;
those songs, you used to hate;
but you are my Lilli Marlene, my dear
and I poor soul, no need to fear.
For desert’s heart is open,
to all those words we hear

Mor.

Yeh I've heard some songs, probably in a movie somewhere, not actually ever sought her out, by Lilli Marlene.

Loved her voice very much.
