New Account...?  mindbodysoul  7 Oct 08 4:32PM Thread Closed

Am I allowed to remove my poems from my existing account, and create a new one? I have suspicions certain persons in my household have been hacking into my account and making changes to it and the poems I've posted. I have tried password changes but I always have to write them down in case I forget, which makes it useless. The persons involved will not admit their guilt. Is it okay to do that? Make a new account and start over? I grow more annoyed with my username by the day as it is.

what sort of edits, out of curiosity...?

dear mbs,

no.  you must start from scratch.  delete them all, open a new account, and patiently re-post your poems.  adding 're-post' to all your titles for a least a week after each posting.  yes, you will lose all your previous comments too.

you should really try to remember a good password, it's not that hard.
starting over is a real pain, and i don't think you're such a bad way that you should.  ah, your username...i have been tempted many times to start over myself; have you tried to say my username? or seen how many names i've been called? if only i knew then. lol.
find a nickname.

goodluck,
jen

Yep - save all your existing poems and like jena says just repost them when  you can under your new account.

:)

Jen - that's just what I meant, to start over from scratch, re-posting my poems. As for the remembering part, you don't understand at all - I have extremely bad short-term memory, I have to write my password down so I can remember it, especially since there are so many passwords in my life - pin number, phone access account, voicemail, facebook, 2 emails, uhh...there's more but I can't remember. The list goes on. I even put the passwords in secret places but eventually they are found. It IS that hard for me to remember. And my brothers are malicious. So I just want to use the same one but start a new account, and patiently re-post them.

Theresa, the edits have always been removed right away as I review my poems on a regular basis. Luckily no-one else has caught them before me. Stuff like writing stupid juvenile profanities in the middle of the poem...etc.

whoa, whoa,

a new account means nothing good for you at all.
IF you can log in now and so can your brothers, using your password,
the same result will happen again if your "passwordforgetitis" happens again.
HOW would a new account change anything?   How long to replace your poems  then,
two per week?

How about for a password, write it down something simple inside your car trunk lid "remember oil change" and then, let that  or some similar "sticker" ((it can be a hello kitty sticker, for instance, or pasted scrap of paper on the bottomside of your bathroom drawer, but when entered, spell the word or number sequence backwards?

POINT: if your problem is forgetfulness of passwords, and bad boys in the house are getting into your account,  just making a new account cures nothing.

(why didn't I say that in the first place, grins.  Why does the wind blow so long and hard? )

Good wishes.  Tell me the secret password and I'll prettify up all your pomes, ha ha!

get a free file encryption program - create a simple NotePad file and save all your pin and password info in that one sigle file.

then encrypt it - this way you'll only have to remember one password for the encryption program.

you can lock and unlock this file at your leisure, and others displeasure :)

Again, laugh.  Our little problems pale against...

Setup: it is 1955.  Groucho tells about the secret word feature, a key point of the show.

JACK BENNY plays a FAKE contestant (always the contestants are real).
Jack is notorious for forever lying about his age: he never has passed age 39.

Anyway, if the Secret Word gets uttered by a contestant, the Duck drops and there is a hundred dollar bill in the duck for the lucky guesser.

BENNY is also NOTORIOUSLY cheap.
Many laughs.  See other segments of the show too, it's still a riot.
It was never scripted. Everything was done live, without edits, and Groucho made up the banter and led the contestants along.

WATCH IT  (he haw)

And forget making a new account.  The duck will not give you $100
