SAMSUNG MCCOE64G5MPP-0VA00 2.5" 64GB SATA II Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - OEM

"Decreased boot time on IBM T60P Core2 2.33 Vista Business from over 4 minutes to 1:30 seconds. I know that still seems a little excessive but the machine loads about every conceivable utility known. Before the machine would be nonresponsive during boot as it was doing too much I/O. Now even during boot, responsive, utilities load quickly. I think the speed of the concurrent reads and writes is the key. Truly Awesome product."

for me, it's like a glimpse of what's to come, and it'll be so immediate for our creative space. it's a little sad cause i won't be around to see it, but maybe i'll just buy some faster RAM, for now, and run lots of benchmarks...

:)

Correction: I mean "run a number of benchmarks...

;)"

naw, i meant run lots of benchmarks, cause this is casual and direct dialog and is just chatty, like talking about the brand of wristwatch god wears, like in next week's deep poetry critical thread.

shame i dont use a laptop :)

though my Hitachi HDP 2 x 350g internal Sata

1 x 1tg Seagate external

seem to do the job i require very well

but then with an OC'd water/air cooled 3.8ghz Amd64 + 4gb of OCZ ram they bloody well should ;)

naw, i'm going to use it on my desktop -- load the OS and a game and app or two. that's the point.

what kind of OCZ did you get? i'm p4, 3.4 and 3.9, with kingston on an asus p5ad2-p, but i'm getting a quad-core and maybe an DDR3 rampage extreme to sit it on. my 3 sata's are ok too, but this guy was talking about simultaneous read-write with the SSD, and that can't happen with our disk drives. i'm going with a Q9650 and OCZ Reaper, on the asus X48 board, and that should up me to 6 times my current P4 practical use response for opening apps and rendering and games. that would put it at about 11 or 12 times the AMD system you're using.

that was the point of my posting this -- to say that 'times have changed' but also help anyone who didn't know that there are ways to get on the net fast and maybe cut your app times by 3/4.

what the fuck is going on here

re: off topic: hardware, SSD drives  geckodrome  10 Oct 08 2:13PM Thread Closed

it's an off-topic post on computers and computer hardware, and we use computers to access poetry critical, and some others do too, not being able to immediately pull it out of the aether like maybe you can; we're lamers and have to use computers.

lol i am really not  convinced you have any of that set up at all Mike :)

seriously i'm not... though i'm sure you wish you did have one, so your false boast of a system "11 or 12 times the AMD system you're using" would have some substance.

your post sounds like a NewEgg review.. perhaps I'll find it there.

as they say on the internet 'these days' ... pics, or it didn't happen.
