Back to the beginning, for Reid:

Are you heavy? Are you thin?
Don't you like the face you're in?
Largese flesh sigs' heaven heart
Inspired Reubens' ample art

Today that fash' has worn to thin.....
But don't you like the face you're in?
Don't hide behind cold screen of dark
Comforter-warmth spreads from this heart

I love I love the face you're in
Old or Young or Graced or Thin
I don't I don't care less one bit
Your face is mine I'm loving it

I'm melting, melting!  Ha ha!

'andsome 'enery 'as saved a poem
I thought was lost in the Great Donnybrook of late 1994.

Now is up again, retouched as I know to do better today.
I simply spaced the lines and added marks and altered but one word.

I made that poem to give confidence to all the "plain" people out there,
afraid to show their portraits to internet forums.   I never learned to like my own looks,
not until they'd pretty much faded away. What a waste of life-joy that was!

Thank you Henry!  I was delighted to talk to you the other night.
Now you've really made my day again.

PS:  I love the face you're in!

See, even in my earliest poetry, when I had had almost no exposure to other poets past nor internet-present, I tended toward poem-things EXTERNAL to myself.
The poem is not about me. It is about making other people feel better.
It is easy to read and whimsical and original and I won't call it "great", but
IF a poem leaves a person feeling better about their life, then it is a good poem,
and it need not be heavy or ponderous or "deep".  Or maybe, in a way, this poem effort -Is- "deep": it aims to heal without any magical incantations whatsoever.

As re-marked last night,

Face

Are you heavy?  Are you thin?

Don't you like the face you're in?

Largesse flesh sig's heaven's heart;

inspired Reubens' ample art.

Today that fash' has worn to thin;

but can't you like the face you're in?

Don't hide behind cold screens of dark;

comfort, warmth, spreads from this heart.

I love, I love, the face you're in;

old or young or graced or thin.

I don't, I don't, care less one bit;

your face is mine. I'm loving it!

I got an email from Henry. Why was he banned again? He no longer can post at all. Not even at college.

i'm interested in finding the answer to that too, as i have seen no reason for it.

If he can't even post from the college computers, then that means some sort of blanket ban was applied to even that ISP; probably not due to anything Henry "did"; someone else?

At any rate, Donny has been gone for so long now, and the mods have no ability, so far as I know (not much) to ban members or to block entire blocks of ISP addresses.

All I know is that Henry actually phoned me last week.  We spoke for the first time.  He is not only super nice, but went out of his way to save from oblivion, one of my very first poem-efforts.  The poem is what it is: not much.  But the action of Henry, in every thing he as done to help and to cheer me, is more than just commendable.  He is an asset to my life.  I wish he would be allowed the same freedoms as the rest of us here, mor and joey and reid and...all.

well the fact is that henry was banned from this web-site.  therefore, it makes no sense for him to be allowed to post and continue to discuss the fact that he is Henry.  i'm not saying i agree with the decision (i'm not really all that informed on why he was banned).  however, it only makes sense that we ban the person not the computer.  so when henry resurfaced as poe and made claims to being himself, well it only makes sense that the new IP address be banned as well.  the problem is the person using the computer not the computer itself.  the new persona "poe" should have never made a mention of his connection to henry.  this would have saved him a lot of headache.

I presume that the person speaking above is one of the moderators anonymous.
Is this presumption corrrect?  If so, it will be a help to us to sort the real from the fakers, by posting such an advisory by using a moderator account name.

I was banned from PC in the first month. Then I was later allowed back in.

Why is Henry (his real name) considered such a bad case?
Honest question, because I do not know his posting history,
and I cannot, from my vantage point, see what or why or who he harmed here.

thanks,

Reid
