i did, at your suggestion, and maybe for this place you should hide your influences and just go for it yourself, cause the site reflects on my brain as an ad for honda-harley's and some kind of caffine drink.

like, if i were to direct you to the olivier massaean homepage what could i expect from you but about the same reaction as mine, except maybe you'd call it 'antique roadshow' or something and maybe pause to wonder about my 'clogged arteries.'

I heard her on tv about a year ago- her songs are quite catchy I guess, but I don't see the difference between her and say, Amy mcdonald?

I've started to like the singer Adele, but my favourite is Fionn Regan:
check this beautiful song- and rather quirky vid!:

I don't know, I guess its really to each his/her own-  I used to love EAST 17 when I was younger- I thought they were "the coolest band ever"=oops!- and I didn't understand when people laughed!!! I still listen to the odd tune when it comes on VH1!!! lol

EAST 17 classic!:

Hold on to what you've been given lately,
hold on to what you know you've got.
Hold on to what you've been given lately,
Hold on 'cause the world will turn if you're ready or not.

Amy is far younger, has only been playing for about 9 years. KT has been playing for at least 20. As for their music, I'm not sure, I've never heard Amy. Refer me to similar songs maybe?

mr rock n roll:

I dont think it matters that KT has been performing for longer, they just sound similar to me, and neither really grabs my attention for too long. You don't need to go far back to see KT has been influenced by folk music, and people like stevie nicks- it doesn't make her worse or better. Its just a fact.Hardly anyone says the beatles are worse than chuck berry because he played rock n roll before them.
I'm probably a poor judge though as I like pure folk and irish traditional stripped down music the most of all- the less instruments the better.

the sort of music I really like:

bert jansch: needle of death

the fureys: gallipolli

Ralph mctell: streets of london

I don't know anything about music except what I like.
I like to get to know the artist, then I can really appreciate their music.
I like KT Tunstall. Why don't you get to know her too?

Well said Kassidy!  I will try and make an effort to know KT.

=notes:  all pop music themes are just modern re-hashes of topics covered by traveling bards and minstrels thousands of years ago.

=every new human is a blank slate, with no possible way to know that what's "new" to them, is old hat to the old.

=I am able to enjoy a great deal of today's music.  It's how well the artist sings or plays or presents. I don't  much like excess volume, screaming guitars, etc.  But for me, if the artist is good, then that transcends the UNIVERSAL FACT that all musical themes are recyclings of their near-peers, and always, about OLD stuff.  Girlie, I been 'dere and done that.

WORSE: for me, I was inculcated as a child, by my own free will, with antique music, impossible music for modern ears.  I liked the past, to imagine and to visit. The great, natural, un-mic'd voices, the comedy, the dirty jokes hidden well within the lyric from the Church Ladies' sniffing noses of Righteous Censorship.  I like the old records because so often they are so very naughty at at heart.

But I also like beat and slam a slap yo' bitch fo' a rock crap, if it's done well.

SO, I will listen to PC members' fave music.
And they in turn will listen to Masculine Women, Feminine Men; Which is the Rooster? Which is the Hen?

It's all so hilarious.   SHOCK your friends with ancient pop music?  I gu-ar-an-tee you that todays hits, most of them, will be as dust after one generation has passed.

Again: new humans, new great talents will listen to the latest re-hashes of themes, immortal, like: eat, sleep, shit, eat, make love, get dumped, find love, kick it all off, get stoned, escape, sweet dreams,  dear Kassidy.

I love new and open minded humans the best.  And the most of them?  Happen to to be female, if we reinforce them in time.  WOMEN rock the cradles.  And as they rock those cradles, in time the contents of those cradles will rock the world, either better or worse.  It all boils down to motherhood, and the quality of the mother.   Daddy's are good for hunting and for insemination, and they need a life-buddy they can fuck at will.

So it goes, round and round and round!  Joy!

Masculine Women (an easy, bouncy, jouncy joy ride---before the Great Clamp Down)
