IT IS well known in the UK, that of all the "tribes" of nations there,
the WELSH are THE most ornery, intractable types! True. They are
the...Irish, but impossible to deport, not by all the King's men.

So...when a Welshman was kicked out from his own land,
he went to England, you know, that posh, uppah-crusty place down south.

There, the Welshman became a Welch.

And so my name is English.  But I'm a pain in the ass to any authority.

Yep, I might as well ape me hero, George,

and proclaim (from Lancashire)
that I am the emperor...in temp. exile, only.

It's me lucky day!

Hey does the thing she does with her fingers like flipping someone off?
( I am from the USA and people only raise the middle finger) So I was not sure...

mandolyn,

my fingers are stiff and sore, or I'd make a quickie video for the itsnotmuch YT account to illustrate the V and the Middle Finger Salute (jk), which, latter, you surely have seen, we all have seen.

IN CONTEXT: I do not know Welsh habits.  But she is of the WWII era, she was alive then.

ALL people of the Allied nations flipped the "V" for VICTORY, all the time.
VICTORY over evil, Axis powers.

In the cited clip, the old woman is making the "V" sign, ostensibly telling her opponent that SHE has won the argument....and he may consider it as a middle finger FLIP, that he may please go off and STICK his own index finger up where the sun don't shine, so to speak.

She's full of VINEGAR, there.  V for VICTORY over PUNTERS.

That is what it is about.  Any Welsh people here?  Is my presumption about correct?
See, I do not =know=; I only intuit things.  It's called "common sense.

In closing, I wish you all a good evening full of...Google is our friend,

search term: " asci finger flip".

Result, copy and paste, and you'll see the page source.

----Fun now, using the symbol of "respect" for thine enemies, very cheeky, it is!

OK? Ready? Be not offended, anyone...this is ASCI humour.

-----Good night all! (for this thread).  Now scroll down the page for my parting shot:
