best way to get the song out of there is to think it and then orchestrate it in a contrary way to what you're hearing -- like, turn the beethoven 6th symphony into all-banjo. for whatever reason, that releases me from the song. you might think that's not so happy, to have to give up the music, but i can't ignore music.
an interesting topic for poets, is how a different music will be in your head for different and unexpected feelings you have. so, not even like when you wake up and you've been dreaming in music, but when you look at something and a melody comes to mind and stays in mind for a few hours. sometimes, i recognize that the piece i'm hearing comes only for certain feelings -- like, if i'm anxious and realize i'd been hearing Berlioz in my head that morning. the sophisticated cynic might say that the Berlioz was the cause and not the result, and might be right. still...

This song is directly responsible for me meeting and marrying my husband.
I used to 'blog' on myspace. (lol, now I probably do it here) - but my husband was one of my readers...
I posted about my dad, and how he always (still now) makes me mixed-CDs. And how this song was/is on every single one of them - and I wondered if he was trying to give me a nice message.
The next day he (Robert, my husband) had this song on his profile - on the player thingy.
And I'd only talked to him by email, like, once before that. And I didn't even know if he was even reading me (although I'd hoped)
Cos, I had already told my sister I was going to marry him. Or someone like him.
He was very romantic. Very cool.
And I want to not get that out of my head, cos I love to think about that-
I probably should make a tiny URL - but anyone whose bothered will look anyway.

I hate Jar of Hearts personally. I thought it was one of those indie songs that tries too hard and somehow slips through into mainstream music. Always felt it was really overrated and got played out very quickly.
I've started to feel the same way about Pumped Up Kicks and Gotye - Somebody that I Used to Know. I don't think that track made good use of Kimbra's voice either, she was wasted on that track. If you really want to hear her singing listen to Kimbra - Settle Down | http://youtu.be/yHV04eSGzAA
I do appreciate Adele, but she's really overplayed as well.
One song that I always come back to are Deepest Blue's tracks:
Give It Away | http://youtu.be/MFpu_qvnDbE

Some more tracks I always find getting into my head:
Aqualung - Strange & Beautiful | http://youtu.be/9AN9ag5xhvY
Ministry - Every Day Is Halloween | http://youtu.be/DXtX9u7_6F8
Dangerous Muse - Every Day Is Halloween | http://youtu.be/ohOIY4Kt8zA
Dangerous Muse - The Rejection | http://youtu.be/vxuYZnlG8Oo
Pet Shop Boys - It's A Sin | http://youtu.be/y7I5UaB7mx4
Pet Shop Boys - Always On My Mind | http://youtu.be/DYTk3VOuMDU
Frankmusik - Struck By Lightning | http://youtu.be/dN6MkmYCdWA
Willy Moon - Be Your Man | http://youtu.be/uVnJhf_L3f0
The Overtones - Gambling Man | http://youtu.be/Oo8OgMzS3uU
I could go on, there's a lot of earworms out there. Needless to say there's a lot beyond what's regularly played on the radio these days.
