'Tis No Rebirth
themolly

When they first fed it to me
 1
It tasted so easy.
 2
"Let your gut lead.
 3
Don't sabotage your own journey.
 4
Let it be.
 5
You are born free.
 6
Life is sweet."
 7

Flung into a strange plane
 8
to learn of shame,
 9
speechless, penniless, nameless
 10
with only one thing to keep you sane...
 11
For every person it is the same.
 12
Our
 13
innate
 14
rolling
 15
stone
 16
Philosophy.
 17

On occasion it occurs to me,
 18
I don't live by that thinking.
 19
I am born of hypocrisy
 20
and its debauchery.
 21

Even now, the words taste easy,
 22
full of covetous memory.
 23
I am greed.
 24

My serpant conspires,
 25
"Strike appeal to Earth, to come all this way for a fruitless search.
 26
'Tis no rebirth."
 27

Looking back,
 28
it was planned so beautifully.
 29
Let your guts lead.
 30
Your born philosophy
 31
to refine your pursuit of curiousity.
 32
"Let it be."
 33

But of THIS life,
 34
no one told me.
 35
They forgot.
 36
Implanted These Philosophies
 37
to coddle me.

...I can't decide whether you are

a. A religious person losing faith in yourself and your actions.
or
b. Someone who has no idea what it means to be a seeker of truth, or in other words, a philosopher.

Either way, this poem is rather muddled. I want to choke the life out of it's weak, "I blame the world for my enslaved (that is to say, not free) spirit" attitude.

JESUS LOVES YOU MOLLY!
 — unknown

I am no religious zealot.

Furthermore, I am educated, well-read, and knowledgable on the subject of philosophy.  However, this piece is not referring to what you are.  Think it over.

Read! learn! and as for the light years comment - if we are all made of light how can one light be before another? Wake up - then dream. oh and be careful of the use of the words - philosophy - curiousity and ME!
