summer sundays
misspanda

'content' is my living room on a rainy summer morning
 1

sausage and fried eggs let their ribbons of steam slip teasingly around great-grandaddy's grandaddy's furniture
 2
tangibly mixing with the scent of sticky sweet cinnamon rolls
 3

the Eagles float lazily from dusty old speakers
 4
'take it easy, take it easy'
 5
rain beating soothingly on the big window
 6

Daddy singing along in a rich lyrical tenor
 7
the boys streaking through the kitchen
 8

Ana and Kaitlin emerging sleepily from filtered-sun lit bedrooms
 9
and Mama calling for breakfast

A beautiful, lazy summer morning. Have you heard the song "Banana Pancakes" by Jack Johnson? Your poem reminded me so much of that song. Raining, waking up, eating breakfast. I loved it.
