Killing Hope
kandiekay

Streetlight lonely
 1
by oneself.
 2
Shining dully
 3
on the empty road,
 4
the one never traveled,
 5
that leads to nowhere.
 6

Oh how I wish I were
 7
so far
 8
unlike this light.
 9
But I am also
 10
working for no one,
 11
no reason to shine,
 12
nothing to live for.
 13

What is the purpose
 14
of the light placed here?
 15
This question
 16
it must have asked itself,
 17
for when I visited
 18
this streetlight,
 19
it flickered
 20
burned pink,
 21
then died.
 22

Goodbye…

Thanks Hear. Any advice?

Good foreboding atmosphere. Philosophy and light bulbs fitted nicely together
