Thank You for Caring
listen

Entomb my apology
 1
in the casket of your memory
 2
of me.
 3
Water it, shelter it,
 4
do not let it die,
 5
like the gardening of sorrow
 6
among the flowers
 7
you tend.
 8

Use my hate
 9
to criticize
 10
the hatred that ruled your
 11
ideologies.
 12
Forgive my stupidity,
 13
for it blinded the will
 14
that I had left behind
 15
to fatten
 16
what will descend.
 17

Use my greed
 18
to stabilize
 19
the wealth of our family,
 20
and let it rise
 21
to a better future,
 22
than the one of my ancestors.
 23

In the voices of the eulogy,
 24
explain
 25
that my fatal habit
 26
to kill compassion
 27
was a mistake;
 28
for through my shrouded eyes,
 29
I see what you have done for me—
 30
no more do I bury its gleaming care.

I see here why you got my piece called contrast to odiousness, you are well aquainted with the use of contrasting metaphors to seed your Poetic purpose. It is something I'm only lately experimenting with yet you seem quite comfortable with the wordplay. I look to reading further ...

i care a lot about what you say.

good luck with your experimentation. i'm sure it will culminate nicely.

Wah!  This made me want to cry.  How sad to be too late to make amends or see the truth.
 — Isabelle5

thanks CrudeEcstasy. i fixed that. i am a little worried now, that i missed that, because this was published in a hopeless little literary magazine, with that mistake ... but i see how right you are, and i do hope nobody notices ...

thanks, however, for noticing.

Isabelle, i am indeed sorry; but, as an author i try to appeal to emotions ... though, i suppose there isn't much too appealing if i make you ready to ...

well, anyway. enough of that.

thanks, the both of you. really appreciate it.
