Goblins
EdwardDurden

I lied, I stole, I pretended
 1
all to be able to see you.
 2
We smiled and laughed, but I knew what waited.
 3
A war brewed at home, dark clouds gathered overhead.
 4
They shone with energy and electricity.
 5
Opening the door, I fought against the goblins.
 6
The phone rang and I moved toward it,
 7
but the beasts persisted.
 8
Closing my eyes, I extended my sword and spun,
 9
cutting a goblin in half and injuring the other.
 10
Suddenly, the phone seemed to echo in my head.
 11
I felt a warmth running down my side.
 12
Blood I saw, smile I did, and I dived into the creature with my sword.
 13
Leaving the sword in its skull, I walked toward the phone.
 14
Her sweet voice gave me hope of survival.
 15
"Knotts Scary Farm?
 16
But I'm injured.
 17
No, I really am injured.
 18
Hello?
 19
Hello?"
