I Will Always Remember
EdwardDurden

I will always remember that afternoon we spent together.
 1
Tired from a hot day at school, you entered my home with a relieved grin.
 2
We walked to my bed and I set my alarm.
 3
Lying together, I watched your shoulders rise and fall
 4
as you slept away your worries beside me
 5
and wished for things never to change.
 6
I kissed your cheek to rouse you
 7
since I had only pretended to set the alarm.
 8
You lay quietly under a thin layer of hair,
 9
which you brushed aside
 10
without even realizing how big your smile was.

Not too wordy, not too vague.  This makes me smile in its warmth.

Sweet innocent nap times.  I like the last line a lot.

Pretty, not sexual, leaves the reader feeling that perhaps all they did was sleep. And I find that touching and sweet. I see so many poems in here about so many types of sex, which is OK within taste, but I don't sense that here. This is friendship, first love and perhaps even the trust of sleeping together without sex. Love what you did here!

L7 killed it for me. either you mean it literally, but i already gathered that from the tone of the poem, or you meant it figuratively, which destroys that tone.

apart from that, this poem is truly lovely.

this is a very delicate poem between two sweethearts, i like it a lot... it reminds me of what i once had, a long passed memory fresh in my mind. -MONICA
