Girl Songs
Grimmiae

I flip through pages
 1
women with prosthetic legs,
 2
women with large hips,
 3
the old, the young,
 4
and the dead
 5
where is the Vogue?
 6
where did MISS-KNOW-IT-ALL go?
 7

I walk in Fall
 8
the lipstick, the over done rogue
 9
a palette too hard for any young lady
 10
yet we wear it and smile proudly
 11
while some sit at chairs
 12
that hurt our asses
 13

I try on clothes
 14
I am four years young
 15
and I do not tan well
 16
my teeth are not white
 17
and neither are you
 18
grey, grey
 19
brown eyes against purple cotton
 20
I am lovely
 21

A song of a woman is sung
 22
Hips, hips- dance, to it
 23
tits, you fuck me over and over
 24
repeat this record
 25
Ode to the stomach, you were never a saint to anyone
 26
ovaries, uterus, cervix
 27
this is a girl at her best
 28

that I hit, that I hit with a song
 29

Rinse, and repeat.

I'm obviously a raging woman.

This is a very good barrage -- post-modern madness of all the things "woman" or "girl" is supposed to be or do.  I'm glad the author didn't go for any tired images -- and there are dozens -- nor break into obvious editorialization.  While I am not a raging woman, I am definitely with this poem.

"Rinse and repeat" is genius.  Thanks.

Thank you, I was trying hard to avoid cliches :)

Have to agree 'rinse and repeat' was the perfect ending

Raging is right!  I like the swirling wind about this.  You made the familiar appear a little more involved.
