And then, there was rain. | 1 |
stop-in silence listen, | 2 |
to the rhythm of this rain, to this | 3 |
reflection of our skies | 4 |
these clowdy days, | 5 |
now finally arise, | 6 |
rose-petals dripping down our noses-rain | 7 |
dripping down | 8 |
dripping,dripping through the skin | 9 |
reaching, reaching, barley touching | 10 |
all the tears we bear within | 11 |
| |
Then, there was rain, | 12 |
erruption of the heart. | 13 |
too long within us have we born | 14 |
this force, too long have we let slide | 15 |
this consciousness we lay aside | 16 |
pushing, pushing, weighing down, | 17 |
the walls we've built ourselves inside | 18 |
dry walls of dry clay-we keep ourselves | 19 |
caught in endless fear to drown | 20 |
if these walls ever fall apart. | 21 |
| |
And then | 22 |
there was rain. | 23 |
stop-let your heart breathe, | 24 |
through the rhythm of this rain | 25 |
and wash away | 26 |
these crumbling walls | 27 |
we choose to build ourselves of clay | 28 |
and wash away | 29 |
this heaviness which we allow to weigh | 30 |
down the heart-around the heart, these walls of clay, break open- | 31 |
listen | 32 |
to the rhythm of this rain | 33 |
see-our reflection in the skies, and let | 34 |
all that we have born within | 35 |
now finally arise, | 36 |
rose-petals touch, | 37 |
the very essence of our inner selves. | 38 |
