Ghetto
starr

Snow dusts the ghetto
 1
with a cool, daunting potency;
 2

Hopeless sun not of custard,
 3
needles exchanged not of pine.
 4

Winter buries
 5
the cracked streets and their children
 6
over time.

I wish the snow would bury you and your poetry
 — flaminhot

You don't even know me.  And you wish the snow would bury me and my poetry?
Evil.  The fact that I write so well must consume you with jealousy that you would appear on so many of my poems with nothing but negative, abrasive remarks.  Keep doing that.  It only shows others how pathetic you really are.  FlaminNOT.

I shortened this one considerably and played with the punctuation.

Thanks, "Angrychick!"  This one's got a special place in my heart after having worked with troubled teens on drugs/alcohol for 6 years on the streets.  :-)  Thanks 4 droppin' by.  Starr

After reading "Crack Baby," (Top Rated #10) I was inspired to rework this poem.  Thanks to the author of that incredible poem.   :-)
