the purpose of hatred.

I stare at you—looming—in the half light of the darkened cabin.
 1
 
 
It seems as if we’ve been here before, each movement like a lyric to a song we’ve long forgotten;
 2
we remember just moments after its end,
 3
and sing louder.
 4
 
 
So, we move faster now, adrenaline rushing through each of us—
 5
its amazing how close we all really are to one another—
 6
 
 
yet, we fight on…
 7
into the cold night…
 8
   forgetful of what has brought us
 9
 
 
here
 10
 
 
is where we’ll stay.
