requiem for the sojourning night
wendz

feather memories
 1
trapped by sigh and regret
 2
pour out when night darkens,
 3
pauses in breath;
 4

an hour unbroken
 5
by neither wind
 6
nor restlessness.
 7

centuries of loneliness
 8
crush fragile hope,
 9
despairs what once beat
 10
in stillness and
 11

you tremble through night,
 12
slipstream tears inked
 13
indelibly into bare skin,
 14
warm touch, and half a sheet
 15
of wax drawings.

Well.  It's beautifully impressionistic.  On the other hand, it's quite an abstract.
I can't tell what it is about other than a female's sensitve musings.  Abstractions
are, I think, over-relied on here.   What is a wax drawing?  "centuries" of lonliness?
So many metaphors without anchors for the reader to grasp too.  I grabbed for wax

ouch!  a  half inch fall.

I like the poem anyway. Its atmospheric.

Feather memories - for that alone, this should get an 8 minimum!
