Night Games
larrylark

You must play my games,
 1
enacted in clear light of day,
 2
while I have now found
 3
new friends in darkness.
 4

Come closer, tip toe towards
 5
the walls that can't  see,
 6
their field of force, sucks energy.
 7
I am not now your child,
 8
you only had me for a while
 9

I might hear you so will turn.
 10
Don't be surprised to learn
 11
you have no sight of me,
 12
for I have departed,
 13
knowing I shall never be retrieved.
 14

Seeing is not believing,
 15
and you must believe what
 16
you cannot see.
 17
Come, I will be here always,
 18
just out of reach, the child you sent,
 19
while resentment still grows,
 20
from good intentions that flowed,
 21
all those years ago
