Demons And Angels

Black land runs on,
it's artery's splash blood.
Shrouded grey seascapes
hold onto the flood.
Furies are stood,
blaze prints on the ground.
Footfalls of demons
singe edges of towns.
Stretched sinew coils
in cold winds that cut,
fine notions are oiled
behind doors slammed tight shut.
Through frozen back gardens
night angels depart,
Past tidy apartments
and wild beating hearts.
