roundabouts on street corners
 1
precede 3 a.m. condensation
 2
conversations with the sidewalk
 3
blue canvas and more smoke
 4
syllables perfected, exacted
 5
because pretending is more fun
 6
walk. don't walk. paces change
 7
more frequently than ever i had imagined
 8
the sugar is sweeter in teaspoons, you'll see
 9
i hope you can make it to the finish line
 10
with visions of hands folded
 11
like origami gesticulations
 12
and tongues folded around
 13
the depth in the simplicity of nothing
 14
you eyes dart at slanted angles
 15
blinded by the stars
 16
and my stare sleeps
 17
near the space between your uncertain eyes
 18
'step on a crack and break your back'
 19
repeating in the risk of this glance
 20
such childish warnings
 21
never heeded so much clarity
 22
you remain indifferent, uninvolved
 23
filling up the empty slots
 24
in your randomly detailed daybook
 25
with unprompted meetings
 26
with strategically arranged seating
 27
for where we all will sit
 28
in your silent game
 29
of musical chairs
