paper lantern

for each paper memory that i burned
i made sure to tell them your name,
unleashing a thousand echos unto the river.
your silhouette of sweet trepidation soaked in the blood of love
and painted in my broken promises
pulsates ever farther from me and my empty hands,
beautiful, even in sailing away on each breath that i take.
