1973 schools out

We were needful of Jook's sound,
because they played "Crazy Kids".
Parents as empty as blanks
teachers no better.
The leaving age at fifteen,
told us we soon have the bragging rights.
The real breakthrough was
in ones bedroom yanking up the volume.
Power pop was elemental -
ergo cropped hair and rugby shirts
and the ubiquitous wattage
that shone for the last summer term.
