Not the Rose

not for you, darling
proud, wasteful genitalia
arrange the absent shapes with your pretty hands
pick out a spot where the sunlight pools, but
best wait for spring, love
for rotting organic matter to sprout
instead of cheap oasis
wrapped in the ghosts of carboniferous micro-organisms
pour the water over your fingers instead, dear
clean them of their hopeful sins
save your carbon dioxide for the sky in which you swim
light as pollen

Happy Valentine's Day. Nice poem

Took me a minute...loving the grown up words!
 — Isabelle5

thanks both- nice to see you're still round here!
I'm have doubts about this one; the title, the wordiness. I might trim its stems a little at some point, if you catch my drift.
