I am fighting sleep.
eyes close and the dullness fades.
but i am made to feel shame for wanting something more out of this
half life.
i let you wrap your arms around me again,
but I am pining to be rid of this awful existence.
another day of misery onward with the sun
and here you are
smiling because you have won.
