The body politic

You've become a politician.
Appealing to everyone.
Overflowing with exaggeration
constantly smiling
full of gestures and words
tenuously connected to
the truth.
Forgive me if I recite them privately
as cheap consolation.
All I can trust now are those elements
that cannot be altered,
twisted or deformed
by your tongue.
The arc of a clenched fist.
rhythms of your carotid pulse.
rush of sweat or
quiver of your bottom lip
wedded to a lie.
involuntary post ejaculatory piss.
